License Renewal Requirements

The Georgia Board of Examiners (G. B. O. E.) has set forth the following guidelines for Christian counselors and therapists.

LICENSE VALIDATION

1. Your license is valid for two (2) years from the date of first approval by G. B. O. E.
2. You must renew your license with the appropriate CEU credit every two (2) years or your license will expire.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

Earn a minimum or 60 hours of CEU credit to be submitted every two (2) years.
Of these 60 credits:

30 CEU credits must be certified. What qualifies as certified CEU credits? Attending certified counseling conferences. CEU credits to be determined by the conference. CEU credit forms must be signed off at the conference and submitted to G. B. O. E.. Attending monthly G. C. C. A. meetings. (1 CEU)

30 CEU credits can be uncertified. What qualifies as uncertified CEU credits? Viewing counseling videotapes. (1 CEU) Reading counseling books. (1 CEU) Listening to counseling tapes. (1/2 CEU)

You should have received a CEU package from the Georgia Board of Examiners. This package supplies you with the necessary papers needed to record your CEU credits.

Every two (2) years it is your responsibility to submit the following items to G. B. O. E.:

1. The CEU package listing the 60 CEU credits (print forms here) required by G. B. O. E..
2. A copy of your current G. B. O. E. license.
3. License renewal fee of $100.00 made out to G. B. O. E..
